How We Work
Every project involves a motivated beneficiary in need and a locally represented seafood company acting as an implementing agent. With the guidance of the Napa Seafood Foundation (NSF) and these corporate partners, resources are invested into the infrastructure to execute a sustainable project. NSF and local corporate partners lend their global expertise to the community to ensure on-going support for their success. Our partner companies come from the network of the Napa Seafood Summit™ (NSS) and have years of experience enabling them to support small-scale fishing and aquaculture related programs. To achieve success the project can access key competencies from the global NSS network. Our team works closely to ensure that every dollar is accounted for and provides reports of the progress back to our donors.
Pilot Project: Seaweed Project in Chiloe Island, Chile
Pilot Project: Tilapia farms in Coquitos, Mexico
The fundraising results of 2017 allowed the foundation to expand our projects into Chennai, India by providing micro-loans to women selling seafood in their communities.
The following are now under consideration.
We are encouraged by the support of our corporate partners in identifying communities throughout the world that could benefit from the NSF.
The Napa Seafood Summit 2019 will be used to highlight the progress thus far and to lay out our plan for future community projects.
